Event Attire 

Party Chic! Smart and sophisticated. Elegant, but not overdone. Tailored, but not too traditional. Pairing “work” with play, casual with dressy trendsetting elements. For men, this implies dress pants with a button down, to jeans with a blazer. For women, a cocktail dress to skinny jeans with heels and a blouse. 

  

Parking 

Complimentary valet parking will be available at the main entrance to The Westin Kierland (6902 E Greenway Pkwy, Scottsdale, AZ 85254). Self park will be available too. Please make sure to mention you are attending the Playmakers Classic. 

 

Event Check In 

Upon arrival, you will be required to check into the event. In order to take part in a handful of the activities we have, you will be required to register through Handbid including providing contact and credit card information. Once registered, you will be free to easily make digital purchases throughout the night including Silent Auction, Casino Games and Closest to the Boat. We are unable to accept cash payments/donations at the event. We highly encourage everyone to register as you will be unable to participate in these elements without it!

Following check in, you will enjoy the chance to walk our event red carpet and take a photo in front of our step-and-repeat. 

 

Event Happenings 

We have an incredible line up of activities and we encourage you to take part in as many as possible!  

  • What is the recommended dress code for this event?

  • Is there an age requirement?
    The 2022 Playmakers Classic is intended for guests 21 and over. Anyone who would like to bring an underage guest must inform us in advance. Please contact Steve Klimek at sklimek@mlbpa.org or 585-755-1378 to discuss.
  • Will there be valet parking onsite?
    Yes. In addition to valet, there is also a self-park option.
  • Will there be a check in?
    Yes, upon arrival all guests will be required to check-in at the entrance of the event space within the Westin Kierland. Due to security measures, all guests must be on the guest list and provide photo ID.
  • Will there be entertainment at this year’s event?
    Yes! Musical Performance By: Brett Young Emcee: Weezy, the in-arena host for the Phoenix Suns DJ: DJ Supa C
  • Where can I find my table once I arrive?
    Unlike most galas, there will be no reserved dinner tables. Sponsors of certain levels will receive branded lounge spaces. Other guests will have access to high top tables and other non-reserved seating.
  • What activities can I participate in?
    Golf “hit the boat” Competition Casino Games Whiskey and Wine Tastings Cigar Lounge Silent Auction
  • Preliminary Run of Show (All times reflected are MST)
    6:30PM:Event Begins| Food, Tastings, Golf Competition and Casino Games + DJ 8:00PM:Final Rounds of Golf Competition 9:00PM: Silent Auction Closes 9:15PM: Brett Young Performance 9:30PM: EventEnds

Who is Coming? 

You will join more than 250 Playmakers including 50+ Major League Ballplayers!  Our player list includes Dave Winfield, Aaron Nola, Marcus Semien, and Will Smith, just to name a few.  

What Are We Raising Money For? 

The signature initiatives of the Players Trust including STEM League, a unique program that combines power of baseball and the backgrounds of real Major League Baseball players to make learning fun. This baseball-inspired board game and complementary curriculum fosters students’ passion for learning while cultivating their math aptitude and social-emotional skills. In 2023, the Players Trust will continue to work in partnership with the nonprofit Learn Fresh to bring STEM League to more than 10,000 students across the United States, Caribbean and other Latin American countries.
