As part of the MLB Players ongoing wildfire relief efforts in Los Angeles, the Players Trust activated in Los Angeles during the first week of July. The week began with an MLB Players STEM League tournament in Altadena, where students used math and strategy to compete in a fantasy baseball challenge. The two tournament winners were invited on-field for batting practice ahead of the Angels vs. Rangers game.

Later in the week, the Trust partnered with West Los Angeles Little League and Players Way to host a baseball and softball clinic for youth affected by the fires. Participants received hands-on coaching from former Major Leaguers including Ricky Romero, Jesse Biddle, Danny Worth, Tyson Ross, Ryan Brendan, Eric Thames, and Chris Iannetta. Five standout athletes were recognized for their performance and sportsmanship.

Along with the STEM winners, top performers from the clinic joined batting practice and met Mike Trout, Yusei Kikuchi, Zach Neto, Kyle Higashioka, Jake Burger, Logan O’Hoppe, Kenley Jansen, and Marcus Semien. Thanks to all who made it a special event for the kids!
