what we do
The Players Trust is driven by the Players and inspired by the game. We provide programs and resources that champion induvial and collective passions towards a common goal: Making a positive impact on the world and inspiring others to do the same.
The MLB Players STEM League, created in partnership with the nonprofit Learn Fresh, is a free, baseball-inspired program designed for middle-school-aged youth. Using real Player statistics, the program helps students develop math fundamentals and strategic thinking through an engaging board game and curriculum. It has been introduced in schools and youth organizations in the United States and abroad, reaching a wide range of communities. The program is easy to implement and provides a fun way for students to connect with sports while building confidence in math. Educators interested in bringing the STEM League to their communities can contact Jason Cantor at jcantor@mlbpa.org or (732) 841-1921.
The Players Exchange is a global education program that connects students through project-based learning and cultural exchange. Using video-based interactions, classrooms around the world engage in meaningful conversations, develop critical thinking skills, and explore new perspectives—with baseball as a common thread. Much of the curriculum is driven by recordings from Major Leaguers, giving students the chance to hear directly from Players about their experiences, challenges, and lessons learned on and off the field.
Educators can bring this program to their communities at no cost, giving students a fun and engaging way to learn while connecting with peers from different backgrounds. Additionally, Players who want to interact with students globally—answering questions and sharing insights from wherever they are—can do so easily, helping to inspire the next generation.
The Players Trust Double Play Donations program is a matching gift initiative that helps Players maximize their impact on the communities they care about. If a Major or Minor Leaguer has donated to your non-profit in 2025, consider encouraging them to tap into their matching gift.
The MVP recognizes Players for their outstanding community involvement with a $10,000 grant to the nonprofit of their choice. Each season, six MVPs will be selected, and one will be named Philanthropist of the Year, receiving an additional $25,000 grant.
